Reveal: A guest bathroom renovation

Part one of our pandemic home reno project

In the middle of the pandemic, we decided to do some renovation projects on the house. Just like the rest of the world, being home made me look at the whole house differently and since we had so much time on our hands

As I have shared, I am not big on DIY projects myself {take a look at my DIY adventure here}. I love the looks of so many home makeover mamas but I wasn’t prepared to take on a project that was this big and this permanent. I did quite a bit of research and learned that flooring and paint would make the biggest impact on the overall look of our home so I tackled those first. Our second project was to upgrade our guest bathroom and guest room.

We found a contractor who was great at working closely with us to make sure that we stayed within budget and got the modern clean look of the overall home that we wanted to create. I had no idea there were so many different flooring, fixtures and even paint texture options so having a contractor walk me through all of our options based on the needs of our family was a real lifesaver.

There's no place like home.

I really wanted a clean color palette throughout the whole house. But I didn’t like the idea of white throughout the so I went with shades of grey on the walls and neutrals on the floors.

Here are the before and afters of the guest room, which doubles as my studio because it has the best lighting in the house - and guest bedroom. It’s amazing how color and lighting has made the rooms look like they have doubled in size.

I’m loving the new space and am so happy with how it turned out! Take a look below at the before and afters. I also included the following links with a similar vanity and light fixture option from Wayfair and Lowes.

Let me know what you think! Have you done any home renovation projects since we’ve been quarantining?
