I'm all in on the athleisure loungewear trend

Tips on how to look great in this look you'll love

For a long-time, I was in love with the athleisure trend as long it was on someone else but once we took COVID-19 I had to take the leap. I quickly got sick of wearing basic sweats, leggings and t-shirts. And for me the pajamas look was a little tricky because you never know when you’ll have to jump into a work ready Zoom mood.

So off I went to find leisure loungewear looks that would work for work and play.

And now I wonder wear athleisure wear has been all my life.

“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven”...Ecclesiastes 3:1

Not only has athleisure become a staple in my wardrobe but it has been fun to dress them up and down and mix and match them with other things that were already in my wardrobe. Interested in getting a few athleisure pieces to wear now and post quarantine? Here are a few tips to turning athleisure and lounge wear into the only items you’ll want to wear:

  1. Choose neutral shades. My initial thought was to buy a jogger and matching sweatshirt in tie-dye. I will pick that shade up later but the black was much easier to mix and match with with other things and black instantly makes a look look more expensive. Here is the link to shop the one pictured above! It's a steal at only $45.

  2. Make sure the fabric is thick enough to wear outside. There were lots of cute loungewear pieces and matching sets that were great for staying in, but I didn’t feel like they gave me enough support to wear out. Try the pieces on in the light and make sure they are thick enough for work and play.

  3. Separate them in your closet. Put the top part of the jogger with your shirts and blouses and the bottom part of the jogger with your pants. This little trick will help you treat the outfit like separates in your wardrobe instead of a set and encourage you to pair them with other pieces.

  4. Dress them up and down. Don’t relegate your athleisure to casual events. Pair the top with slacks for a more business casual, work ready look or add a sparkly blazer {silver will continue to be big for spring} for a date night look. wear your them exclusively as athleisure pieces.

5. Wear them with other shoes. Athleisure and loungewear can be worn with sneakers and stilettos. Try them on with sandals and boots for a totally different look and feel.
