My hair, like my body, has changed as I’ve aged. Here’s how I keep the health of my tresses and maintain the bounce and sheen as I age.
I practiced the same haircare routine for many years. All through my twenties and thirties, I washed my hair every 7-10 days. I went to a stylist every 10 weeks for a relaxer and my stylist trimmed my ends twice per year. After a not so great experience with a relaxer crazy stylist in the past, I had also been really mindful of not over-relaxing my hair.
But when I hit my mid-forties, my hair seemed to become dry and brittle overnight and it had very little bounce. The first think I did was cut down on the heat to my hair and then my stylist and me took the plunge and went on the natural hair journey.
But when I hit my mid-forties, my hair seemed to become dry and brittle overnight.
To stop my natural hair from drying out, I changed up my shampoo and conditioner and decided to add a deep conditioning masque to revitalize and strengthen my hair. I chose the Lasio Keratin-Infused Hypersilk Revitalizing Masque to both condition my hair and protect it from root to tip.
The Lasio treatment is packed with fatty acids from coconut oil, and was exactly what my dry hair needed. During the winter months, I use the leave in treatment once every 10 days and increase to once per week in the summer to combat the heat, chlorine and salt water.
I give all the credit to my awesome hair stylist and this treatment for making my hair the healthiest it’s ever been. With just a few changes, you can have long beautiful hair at any age for years to come.
