In my head, I know that polka dots are in for this season but to me they were never really out. They are a classic for me that fill the runways from time to time but are always a part of my foundational wardrobe.
Polka dots were actually made popular in the 1920’s when Mrs. America was photographed wearing a polka dot swimsuit. Shortly after, Disney introduced Minnie Mouse in a red polka dot dress. Later the one and only Marilyn Monroe was photographed in a polka dot bikini. And there was no turning back our polka dot love after Brian Hyland wrote the hit song, ‘Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini’ in 1960.
I always keep a bit of polka dot in my closet. A jacket here or a blouse there keeps the crisp classic look at my finger tips. I thought I had just enough – and then I saw her.
My childhood classmate Jeannine has has always been a fashion one to watch. Even in high school, her look and fashion choices were always beautiful and bold. When I learned she’d launched her clothing line, Fourth & Jack, I knew it would be worth the wait. And it was.
Here is just one of the many pieces that I am sure to pick up. The collection is the perfect place for the woman on the go and mommy on the move. A mix of bold colors and classic styles paired with bold colors and silohouettes that will keep your wardrobe from being anything but boring.
This look will have me falling in love with polka dots again and again. And I couldn’t help doing a little bit of mix-and-match magic! Try it..you’ll like it.
