Fashion, Film, & Femme Fatales

When Dionne Dean reaches out to invite me to anything, I say yes and ask questions later. The tastemaker, business owner and multi-tasking mama always knows what’s haute and invited me to the Miami Fashion Film Festival (MFFF).  where she will be a panel moderator for the film entitled, The Perfect 14. {Side bar – I am interviewing her on my podcast, “It’s All Good,” in a few weeks}.

The MFFF shines a spotlight on the ongoing love affair and historical interdependence between art and fashion and its influences; and highlights fashion design through storytelling, graphics, sound, and motion, in real and digitally imagined environments. We went for the fabulousness of it all and to support Dionne who was the moderator for the film entitled, “The Perfect 14.” All the proceeds of the event benefit Fashion Inspires More, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding the fashion dialogue through art, technology, and education. For my look, I love a Maxi dress paired with cut off shorts or jeans underneath and knew it would be the perfect pick for a crazy, sexy, cool evening of fashion, film and fun with these femmes.

The number one tip that I can give you as gala season approaches is to shop early. Don’t be forced to race to the mall and make a buying mistake and be stuck all evening in a look you don’t love.  Be open to buying something that makes you look and feel fabulous when you have nowhere to go. The event will come to you – be ready.
